For the last month or so I've been working on a remodeling project at my mother's house. The bathroom in the appartment portion of the house is being switched around and a spiral staircase is going to a room on the second story (in what has always been the house part of the house). So basically the studio appartment is becoming an interesting one bedroom.
As of writing this I am about 2/3 the way done installing the drywall and about 2/3 the way done with the plumbing (in _base_ment).
Leaving
- Remaining plumbing and drywall
- Drywall mud
- Floor installation
- installing fixtures (electrical and plumbing
- Finish Carpentry
- Painting
- And, lastly, stairway installation
All more or less in that order.
And now I finally have a deadline I'm setting for myself. Sept 26th (or 27th) So that I can make the SJC 5 year reunion.
I'm really not sure about my odds though since I've been having serious troubles getting motivated on this project. I haven't encountered one task yet that I could just go go go on. What I mean is, for example, every single drywall piece is cut to fit, there are no full sheets going up. I _frame_d 3 walls not one of which was 5 feet long. This aspect is really frustrating because I there have only been a couple of tasks that have taken more than a few hours and most of them are in the minutes, and some should be a couple of hours but I need to get supplies.
Usually though, when I take on a task entirely by myself I can keep going on it and I'm really excited to see it finished. This project I've really had to force myself to address it.
Enough complaining. I think I'm ready to get back to it.
