The difference between a specialist and a nonspecialist is that a nonspecialist is never required to bullshit.

Obviously I have been slack as hell with my site. The last front page item here, was in August '07 and, that's really unacceptable...unacceptable for me. Now, I while don't think I can excuse this, I can offer a rationalization.

First off, I've been so busy. What this means is that I have occupied my time in other ways.

Secondly (and this is actually a real answer) the current plat form I'm using for this site (joomla 1.01x) has been a thorn in my side. It's not as fast as I would like, as in, it spits out pages slowly (my fault, largely, I know). It seems to be easily extensible in all the ways that don't concern me and difficult or complicated to use in all the ways that do. Migrating to Joomla 1.5x would be a good plan, but half of my extensions wouldn't work, and my trial run found it to be slower than this one....with no content. I searched a half dozen other free CMS/blog software and I'm just going to go with Wordpress when I have the time and motivation to go through all the migration steps.

But this second reason is really just a hang up of mine. It's this desire to have a perfect structural design before building. An impossible desire because any criticism becomes a reason not to build. It's not a perfect structure, I won't build yet. It's simply a hang up, no other explanation.
