It would be really nice if Google stopped putting Bicycle ads on my site. I understand, Specialized is a brand of bike and those characters exist within "The Unspecialized" which is on absolutely every page on this site.
But still...something should, I don't know, trigger their algorithm, or what have you, to the mismatch. This is the only article that even has the word "bike" in it. And as far as I know, it's the only thing that even eludes to any sort of transportation let alone either the wheeled or self-propelled type. The "Competitive Ad filter" does not seem to be relevant to fixing my problem either since there are thousands of people trying to sell bicycles with Google Adwords, and eliminating them one by one would be an exercise in futility. It would be nice if they offered some sort of "exclude these keywords" feature like they do in their search (which, if they do now, and I'm too dense to find it, by all means please let me know, email me, post a comment here, heck, use the forum). In fact, that would be just as, if not more useful to contextual ads since, just like in my case, they continually serve me irrelevant ads. Of course, I could just go with the flow, not fight the river and just start writing to the ads. If Google Adsense can't come up with contextual ads to fit my site, maybe I need to start writing articles that are contextual to the ads it serves. But, I'm not going to do that. If I wanted to do that kind of crap I would start doing pay-per-posts, writing freelance ad copy or get a job or something. I mean, it's not that I don't like bicycles. I always mean to ride my bike more. This could be a good reason start. In all honesty though, I don't know that much about the things. I can fix one just like I can fix most mechanical things and I own one, but I can't see myself becoming an enthusiast or caring to know the good brands from the Walmart/Target brands. So what this comes down to is this. Hey, Google, STOP SERVING ME BICYCLE ADS....please, for something's sake! And, that's really all I'm prepared to do. |
