TheUnspecialized.com is going to become more...well, specialized. The focus of it and articles I publish will all be related the core philosophy of TheUnspecialized. That is to say, I'm going to write more on what it means to be Unspecialized, why it is a good thing and things one can do to become Unspecialized.

I'm doing this because I think things like political commentary or satire really distract from the purpose and that is mostly what I've been putting on the site. People are fickle. I'm fickle, and I know if I was reading articles on a website about an idea that seemed like it might be interesting and I found all sorts of articles or statements that conflicted with my political or religious views I would be turned off by it. I may never explore the site again and would miss out if the site had something worth reading about. Therefore all of my off topic writings will disappear, and most will be available on my Newsvine blog published under my pseudonym, SuperUnspecial.

While I'm not going to publish anything of a Political or Religious nature, I will continue to publish my fiction and poetry here. Fiction rarely turns anyone off and Poetry is much more universal and lively discussions are always tolerant ones. In addition I think poetry could only help the site since, if you're not interested in poetry you don't even see it and if you are, good poetry sticks out.

Also, the site is not going to be a barren wasteland anymore. I've got several good ideas I'm working on and by the end of March '09 I will be actively promoting the site with the goal of creating a working community.
